Things to do: Have beer, music at Green Lawn Abbey Car Show in Columbus

Green Lawn Abbey, a 95-year-old mausoleum located on Greenlawn Avenue, counts among its residents many notable figures in the history of Columbus.

Columbus-born magician Howard Thurston (1869–1936) is housed in the abbey; So former Columbus Mayor George J. Carb (1858–1937).

This weekend, a few dozen four-wheeler visitors will make temporary residences on the mausoleum’s expansive front lawn.

On September 12, the second edition of the Green Lawn Abbey Classic & Exotic Car Show, a fundraiser to support restoration efforts at the historic building, brought visitors to a range of approximately 30 cars ranging from a 1922 Ford Model T to vehicles will invite. Far more recent vintage.
