The STPR Regional Car Rally will take place in Wellsboro on Saturday. entertainment

National car rallies may be canceled this year, but the Waste Management STPR Regional® Car Rally will take place on Saturday, September 18 as scheduled. Viewers can watch the rally action this weekend from four different vantage points, including a jump on the original spectator. Another leap forward in one of the new spectator areas on the Waste Management Inc. property in Antrim, near the area and Wellsborough.

The regional rally will begin with a Parc Expo at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at The Green in downtown Wellsborough. All teams and their cars must be at The Green by 11 a.m. From 12:01 pm onwards, rally cars will be flagged off from Green in a span of one minute.

Waste Management STPR Regional® point scores will count towards the American Rally Association East Regional Championship.

Held at this Saturday’s Regional Rally 2019, Waste Management Inc. built for the 43rd Annual Waste Management Susquehannock Trail Demonstration Rally®. audience areas.

There are four spectator areas on the Waste Management property: Meadow, Inside Loop, Pit Mound and Jump. They ignore competitive course miles. From each, spectators can see and hear competing rally cars travel six times around the Waste Management STPR Regional® course. Portable bathrooms will be located in each spectator area and food vendors will be accessible to all four.

The Grassy Knoll Spectator Area sits on top of a hill with enough space for several spectators to park and have canopies and lawn chairs. At night, spectators can see the headlights of the rally car giving a break to the dark sky. Visitors can move in and out of this venue.

The Inside Loop Spectator area is at the heart of the rally action. This provides access for those who want to get close to the cars driving the course, such as photographers. This spectator area is all filth. There is space for parking, canopies and lawn chairs. Once the spectators are standing in this area, they will not be able to go out until the rally ends at around 8:30 pm

During the rally, spectators can move in and out of the Pit Mound Spectator Area.

Those who have participated in STPR® in previous years will be familiar with the Jump Spectator field. This is where all the jump photos have been taken in the past.

The waste management service area is located between the ticket booth and all spectator areas, approximately equidistant from the service area. Visitors are welcome to visit the service area to see the STPR Regional® rally cars and competitors.

Parking is free for visitors at Waste Management. Tickets for admission to the spectator areas are available for purchase this Saturday at the entrance to the spectator area at Waste Management in Antrim. Admission is $5 per person. Children under the age of 12 and active military personnel with identification will be admitted free of charge. Fans who pay $5 can then go to any spectator area they choose.

The National STPR® Rally was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions and was canceled this year if a state permit was not received by Thursday, August 5. The national rally for 2021 was to be held on September 17 and 18. “I couldn’t wait any longer,” said STPR® President James Monks. “The contestants and their teams had to be informed so that they could cancel whatever arrangements were made for them to stay here.”

Through the state permit system, STPR® has been debarred from using more and more forestry roads and forestry land as spectator areas for the course to such an extent that it has become difficult to run a national rally on forestry roads. State and local politicians and officials have joined forces to find out why this is happening in an effort to allow STPR® to compete in the National Rally Series again in 2022.
