2021 Fall Harvest Car Show Coming to Fort Morgan Friday, September 17-19 – Fort Morgan Times

The 2021 Fall Harvest Car Show will take over downtown Fort Morgan this coming weekend, running from Friday, September 17th to Sunday, September 19th.

Participants are invited to register their cars in advance at www.fallharvestcarshow.org. Entry fee is $35 and includes small, medium, large or X-large T-shirts, dash plaques, ballots, goodie bags for the first 250 vehicles, door prize drawings, and the awards ceremony.

For those who want size 2XL-4XL T-shirts are available for pre-registered entries for an additional fee. Should participants choose to register an additional car for the same owner, it will cost an additional $10 each and does not include an extra T-shirt, ballot or goody bag.

“It’s fun to see everyone and all the cars and activity in downtown,” said co-president Brad Parker.

The weekend will be filled with a variety of cars from everywhere, plus live 60s music performed by the all-female group “The Whatabouts,” awards, an awards ceremony and more.

Top 50, Young Adults 16-21, Top 10 Tractors and Participants Choice are just some of the categories/classes judging who will receive the top 50 ballots from the voting participants. There are also special interest awards including the Meyers Pick, Fire Chiefs Pick, Police Chiefs Pick, Millennium Pick (2000 and newer), and more.

“Last year was our biggest year at 370 cars,” said co-president Dave Cornwell. “Our pre-registration has already exceeded last year. This year we have a lot of first year participants. We are expecting anywhere between 30-50 tractors this year as well.

The Fall Harvest Car Show brings together car enthusiasts from all parts of the state and country. One of the events offered on Friday and Saturday nights is “Cruising Like the Old Days,” where cars are invited to drive together for a cruise down Main Street.

During the cruise, drivers will want to be on the lookout for members of the Fort Morgan Police Department, who will have gas cards to hand out to participants.

Cornwell explained that police officers would “pull over people” during the cruise but instead of a ticket they would receive a gas card to use to help fill up their car.

“The City of Fort Morgan has been outstanding all these years in collaborating with us and making this event happen,” Cornwell said. “They’re just great.”

Visitors will also have the opportunity to shop downtown as all businesses and storefronts remain open and Cover Theater is also offering a free performance of “Dazed and Confused” at noon on Saturday, September 18.

On Sunday, the car show will also help Morgan Community College award several scholarships and awards to students who are involved in the various auto departments offered at the college.

“I’m really passionate about the kids in scholarship program,” Cornwell said. “One of the college kids who got a scholarship made it to the world finals in auto tech. All kids are really talented and we want to help them in every way possible. For the participants who come every year, it is in their best interest to watch these kids grow and keep them involved in the world of auto-tech and auto-body.”

A Sunrise Poker Optimist cruise will also be offered on Sunday, September 19 at 8:30 a.m. that will take participants throughout Fort Morgan, including Fort Morgan Municipal Airport.
