Solan, Ohio – Robbery Attempt: Arora Road
At 3:15 p.m. on 26 August, a license plate reader camera alerted the authorities that a stolen SUV was passing by. The police chased after the stolen vehicle and then Arora and Harper crashed into another vehicle on the streets. The suspect ran towards the office plaza in the SUV.
As police searched for the suspect, a 55-year-old Cleveland man contacted officers and told them the suspect had waved a gun in an attempt to rob his car. The Cleveland man fled, thwarting the robbery attempt.
Police searched the area and the suspected 13-year-old Cleveland boy was found hiding outside Presco Technology, 29200 Aurora Road. The search for the boy lasted about an hour and 45 minutes, with employees of local businesses advised by the police to take shelter in place.
A gun was recovered from the suspect, who was taken to a hospital for treatment after being bitten by a police dog. The other driver involved in the accident, 41-year-old Twinsburgh, was treated for minor injuries.
The boy faces serious charges of obtaining stolen property and attempted robbery. The inspection of the matter is going on.
Improper Handling of Firearms: Aurora Road
On 26 August at 4:05 pm, when the police searched for the suspect in the above case, an officer was informed about a suspicious SUV parked near a pump at the Circle’s gas station, 29605 Aurora Road. As the officer spoke to the driver of the SUV, he noticed the smell of marijuana and guns inside the SUV.
A powdery substance and a digital scale were also found in the SUV. The driver, a Garfield Heights, 34, was arrested and charged with improper handling of a firearm, a fourth-degree felony. Further charges pending the results of laboratory analysis of the powdered substance.
Also in the man’s SUV was a 34-year-old Garfield Heights woman, who was found wanted on a Brooklyn Heights warrant for failure to appear in court.
OVI: Pettibone Road
At 11:40 p.m. on 27 August, officers investigated a two-car accident on Pettibone Road near SOM Center Road. The driver of one of the cars, a 64-year-old Solan man was unsteady on his feet and smelled of alcohol. The man failed the field sobriety test and refused to take a breath test.
The police accused the man of OVI and failure to maintain a certain clear distance.
Disorderly Conduct: Bainbridge Road
At 10:15 p.m. on August 28, police were called to Rollhouse Recreation Facility, 33185 Bainbridge Road, on a report from a disorderly customer. The accused was spitting by punching the table. The management asked the 27-year-old Solan suspect to leave. He was waiting for a ride outside when the officers arrived.
When a 69-year-old woman reached to pick up the man, she refused to accompany him and threw herself on the ground. The officers tried to intervene, but failed to persuade the man to accompany the woman. The police has arrested the person who behaved indecently.
Theft: Aurora Road
At 1:55 pm on 29 August, the management of Giant Eagle, 34310 Aurora Road reported that a man pushed a cart full of groceries out of the store without paying. Among other things, the cart had crab legs and lobster tails, which cost more than $200.
The man loaded the stuff inside a silver Toyota Prius and left. Officers were unable to locate the suspect, but he was identified as 34-year-old Rome, an Ohio resident. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Domestic Violence: Park East Drive
At 10:20 am on 29 August, a 50-year-old woman reported that her husband, 50, also grabbed her by the neck during an argument and threatened her. Police arrested the man on charges of domestic violence, which is a crime of a quarter degree. The woman had marks on her neck and was taken to the hospital.
Rape: Daro Road
At 1 p.m. on August 30, police were called to the Cleveland Clinic location in Twinsburg, where a 39-year-old Solan woman reported she was the victim of a Solan sexual assault two days earlier. The accused youth knows the victim. The Police is investigating.
Possession of a Controlled Substance: Enterprise Parkway
At 12:40 a.m. on August 28, a 23-year-old Solan man reported his wife missing. Police traced the woman to the Hampton Inn at 6035 Enterprise Parkway. In her room, officers found a suspected Schedule 1 controlled substance.
Police have arrested a 31-year-old woman on charges of possessing a controlled substance.
